“...so your majesty despite a lower amount of manpower this year the spring festival preparations seem to be going right on schedule.” A professionally dressed pixie said.

“That's great news Florence, I'm glad even after recent tragedies we can still have a fun event to raise everyone's spirits.” A human sized figure in regal dress and large butterfly wings calmly stated.

Suddenly everything started to shake all around the Palace grounds,  Florence quickly hid behind the large gold plated throne while the Queen maintained a neutral expression from her seat. A large molten rock crashed right through the stained glass window near the ceiling and impacted the palace floor with a sizable crater. A scarlet hair pixie wearing a leather jacket flew into the palace with a look of absolute anger, her body crackling with wild magical energy. Winifred snapped her fingers casually and summoned a small rain cloud to cool down the molten rock quickly.

“Why hello Kaiyo, I did not expect a visit from you today. Though as I told you before I do have a door that I would prefer you use.” Winifred said nicely.

“Don't give me that bullshit Winnie, you know why the fuck I'm here!” Kaiyo shouted.

Kaiyo reached into her subspace pockets and brought out a white envelope. Winifred took the letter from Kaiyo's hand, the fancy seal was already torn open. As she read the contents of envelope she gave small sounds of hm's and ah's.

“Oh you been invited to attend what looks to be quite a prestigious academy. This is quite the news Kaiyo, but I have no idea why you would feel like that was a reason to barge in like this.” Winifred said.

“Oh that wouldn't be a reason, if it wasn't for this!” Kaiyo said as she pulled out another piece of paper.

The paper had a nice fancy script that read “By official order of her Royal Majesty Winifred Guinevere Zhrone you are to attend this academy or face exile from the Realm of Arcadia.” Winfred gave a small sigh and dismissed the scared looking pixie from her throne room. After Florence flew away at fantastic speeds, she looked at Kaiyo with a stern look on her face.

“I didn't want it to come to this....”

“I don't have time to waste on stupid things like going to school, I mean right now I'm on the verge of figuring out how make a tornado of fire! That going to be so fuckin badass and....”

“Quiet!” Winifred shouted with an authoritative voice.

“Ugh...”

“As I was saying, I did not want it to come to this Kaiyo I really didn't. However the people are starting to force my hand, your wild surges are causing far too much destruction around here.”

“It not that bad...” Kaiyo started to say

“A few months ago you turned all the water within fifty miles of the village of Pearls into nitroglycerin which not only removed their source of water but caused massive damage to the village and destroyed almost all of their realm famous clams!”

“Hey at least no one with actual brains died and they had enough living specimens to breed them back.” Kaiyo weakly justified

“A few months before that your surge created a huge hoard of locus that devastated the land's crops...”

“I got rid of them before they destroyed all the crops.” Kaiyo argued.

“...and do I even need to get into that incident a year ago where you summoned that strange feline thing that transformed a lot of our people into more of it's kind and was invulnerable to even the most powerful of our magic!  We were lucky those strange bi-gendered mortals with the weird technology came in and help us trick them back into their own quarantined realm before they'd spread further. They were really angry at me for releasing it from its realm and were questioning how we could even do this! Not even their worse enemies actively trying to break into their locked realm could figured out how and apparently you managed to do that by accident.” Winifred shouted her calm demeanor starting to break into a look of absolute anger.

“Hey that's probably never going to happen again...probably...I mean it's only a 1- 10^124 chance it will ever happen again...”Kaiyo said suddenly starting to feel rather timid under her friend's angry gaze.

“Look Kaiyo I am your friend, and as your friend I am asking you to please, please take this opportunity to better yourself. I know this whole chaos magic thing started out as a desperate gambit to save me, and I do appreciate that you were willing to deal with those risk for me. I also know you feel you need to continue  improving because you want to protect the peace of this realm as much as I do. However time and time again your surges has endangered the safety of our people more then even “He” did.  Their realm has measures in place so your surges won't be quite as dangerous as they are here, this is about as safe an environment you can learn as you'll ever find.

“I don't need some old guy in a bathrobe to tell how to do magic, I already know everything I needs to know about magic.” Kaiyo smugly said

“Kaiyo you need to learn actual finesse rather then just brute forcing these spells like you do. I know you can't get rid of these surges entirely, but you can at least reduce the risk. Please I am going to ask as your friend to give this a chance.” Winifred said calmly

“Fine...I go there even if they probably don't have much to teach me.” Kaiyo grumbled, submitting to her friend request.

“Good, now the letter was enchanted with a spell to open a portal right to the realm their academy resides in, I already left a gift of pencils, notebooks, and other odds and ends you'll need for school. Unfortunately you're going to need to be fitted for a uniform over there since you seem to be the first pixie to ever attend in a long while so they don't have anything in your size.

“A Uniform....ugh.”

“It won't be that bad Kaiyo, you might even make some new friends.”

Kaiyo dashed away without a word, Winfred was left in her throne room  with a crater on her floor and shards of shattered glass strewn about. She rung a little bell and a pixies dressed in a maid uniforms flew in front of the royal Fae. One thing she really did appreciate about her position was having a good cleaning crew for when Kaiyo barged in.

“Would you kindly clean up the glass and call the local carpenter to fix the floor.” Winifred politely asked

“Yes my lady.” The maid promptly responded before flying off.

A few weeks later a portal opened up in a small room with wooden walls and floors as Kaiyo flew out of it wearing a tiny pink glittery backpack along with her normal outfit. While she told Winifred that she didn't need a backpack when she had subspace pockets, the queen knew Kaiyo far too well. All it took was a pouty face and a small guilt trip to convince Kaiyo to just take it with her.

Kaiyo saw a small desk with a brown haired bespectacled lady and figured this was who she was supposed to see about her schedule. As she flew closer she noticed the pointy ears and figured she was some sort of elf,  knowing of the species since a realm of elves was relatively close to Arcadia.  She never visited there but from what she heard the elves of that realm were somewhat snooty, living in towns covered by large trees gilded with sterling silver.  According to Winnie they were the worst people to have political negotiations with, the elves seeing themselves as perfect creatures and the little fairies as nothing more then pests. Kaiyo hoped to herself that these elves were more pleasant.

“Yo I'm here to attend this Melfar Academy, is the correct realm?” Kaiyo asked.

“I assume you've received an invitation yes?” The woman inquired

Kaiyo dug it out of her subspace pocket and placed it on the desk to be viewed.

“Good, I was told to expect a humanoid of a very diminutive stature any day now. I'll inform the head mistress you're here but while I am gone please fill out this paperwork.” The woman said as she placed a few papers down on to the desk along with a pencil.

As the elvish woman left, Kaiyo summoned up a pair of glowing blue disembodied hands to pick up the pencil. The questions were mostly standard bureaucratic questions like name, age, birthday, gender ect. Really the only thing she had to pause for a minute for was the school groups, which she left blank for now since she figured she should check these things out first.

A few moments later the elvish woman came back to the room. Kaiyo handed her the complete paperwork and after going over it she stamped it with the official seal and placed into a folder. After a few minutes of the elf woman doing some things that Kaiyo did not care to inquire about, she came back and handed Kaiyo some papers.

“Okay here is your standard first day package, a map of the campus and island, your id, your schedule, and your room key. Your dorm is room 15 and your class is 1-2, magical studies. Currently we don't have a uniform in your size so there is also directions to our local tailor to get measured for one. Please don't lose these and have a pleasant stay at Melfar Academy.” The lady said politely.

Kaiyo just placed all the paperwork in subspace pockets and flew out of an open window. Apparently the landscape outside the administrative building was a rather nice field of grass, a town could be seen over the distance over the large lake though it was a bit too far to see more specific details of it. She pulled out the map and saw the dorms were southwest of the administration building past the river. Looking up at the sun to determine her direction (hoping that said sun still rose at the east and set in the west in this realm) and started to fly at top speed towards it general direction..

Wizzing at high speeds she did not really have time to admire the scenery, only stopping briefly to confirm the first building she saw was the main academy building before reorienting herself and flying in the direction the dorms were. The dorms were two moderately sized buildings relatively close together, she flew through both of them, not caring about the other big people around the place until she found a room marked 15 and found she was able to open up the door with her key.

The dorm room was rather spartan in it's appearance, it had plain pale yellow walls with two beds, a large coffee table, and a window covered by a curtain.  There was also a large cupboard where she assumed she just put clothing in and two chest also probably there to hold stuff.  She didn't find any signs of another person living here so Kaiyo assumed she had the room all to herself for now. It was honestly way more space then she needed, the room obviously been made for people more of Winnie's size. But Kaiyo had no reason to complain really, it was huge room all to herself.  She laid her body onto the pillow and just started to relax. She had no idea what was going to come in the future, but at least for now she could rest.
